I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Arrow, ‘Vertigo’.

Listen to internet radio with The VRO on Blog Talk Radio

At her arraignment, Thea attempts to enter into a plea bargain with the district attorney, but determined to set an example for the Vertigo drug dealers, the judge dismisses the plea and orders the charges brought to trial. In an attempt to help Thea, Oliver begins working on tracking down the supplier; he eventually discovers that the supplier goes by “The Count”, and he arranges a meeting through his contacts with the Russian mob.

The meeting is broken up by the police, and the Count injects Oliver with a concentrated dose of Vertigo when the latter attempts to follow him. While overdosing, Oliver has flashbacks to the island, and Yao Fei pretending to kill him in front of Fyers so that he can help Oliver to escape captivity. Diggle takes Oliver back to his hideout and uses medicinal herbs Oliver brought back with him from the island to fight the drug overdose.

Afterward, Oliver has the drug analyzed by Felicity, and uses the ingredients to track the location of the Count. As the vigilante, Oliver is able to confront the Count and inject him with his own drug just as the police arrive, with mention of a CI (Diggle?). Oliver lets The Count go, but he’s already had a lot of Vertigo put into his system, and has suffered mental damage. Laurel persuades her father to pull some strings and get Thea 2 years of probation and 500 hours of community service, which she begins serving at Laurel’s legal office.

The episode ends with Felicity showing Oliver the list of names that Walter discovered, and informs him that they came from his mother.

It was a great episode, made superb by the brilliant acting of Seth Gabel as The Count. He really made the role his own, and it was very entertaining to watch. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially after the final scene.

Thanks for reading.

by Miranda Friel on December 5, 2017
This D.C. Universe crossover event with all four D.C. shows is huge. So much so that it takes two recaps covering four hours’ worth of television. Since there’s so much to cover, I’m going to jump right into covering the second half of the event (parts 3 and 4: The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow). […]

Crisis on Earth-X Part 1&2 – Supergirl and Arrow

The episode starts on a completely different earth. Not Earth-Twelve or Earth-ThirtyFive or even Earth-TwoHundredAndThirtyFour, It was Earth X. It was a  world ran by Nazi’s. Where you see the Guardian fighting this masked man in a dark suit with a bow and arrow but the Guardian couldn’t win this fight.   On Earth-One there […]

Arrow “Tribute” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 24, 2017
Now that we know how everyone’s doing since the island explosions, Arrow is ready to jump right into the season. That all started with the bombshell of the premiere cliffhanger where someone has leaked a photo of Oliver as the Arrow. Episode two, “Tribute”, shows the team trying to deal with that. Oliver has an […]

Arrow “Fallout” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 19, 2017
As I’m sure everyone remembers, the season 5 finale of Arrow left us with a huge cliffhanger wondering who survived the explosions on the island. Now, I had faith that most, if not all, would survive, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t any less disappointed with how they picked up season 6 five months later. […]
