So after the first watch of this movie I really enjoyed the movie. I give it a solid 8 out of 10 for its first watch through. Shaft has a ton of great one liners throughout the movie. I can’t remember if I watched the last movie or not, other than knowing that Sam Jackson played as Shaft. With that said, even though this was my first Shaft movie, I didn’t feel lost or confused about the characters. I would definitely suggest this movie.
After the second time I watched this I totally would give this a 7/10 and admittedly this movie is highly re-watchable. As mentioned before there are a lot of great one liners from Shaft, as well as a funny banter between Shaft and JJ(Shafts son). I would totally love to see a follow up movie with the Shaft family. MVP of this movie is Richard Roundtree’s character(John Shaft, Sr). I fully intend to watch this movie again.
