The remaining home cooks split into two teams and are tasked with serving 100 dishes to hungry airmen in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the March Air Reserve Base. Then, the contestants are told they will be competing in the dreaded Tag Team Challenge. On Season Nine of the hit cooking competition series MASTERCHEF, award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay, acclaimed chef Aarón Sánchez and renowned restaurateur Joe Bastianich will put the home cooks through a series of challenges and elimination rounds, in order to turn one into a culinary master.

This season, the judges each have eight aprons to hand out to those who they deem worthy and will mentor throughout their journey in the competition. The home cooks will learn how to break down a crab, cook for and serve 25 wildfire heroes who fought to save hundreds of houses in the southern California wildfires, prepare and serve a beer-infused lunch for 101 employees of the Anheuser Busch Brewery and face the show’s classic restaurant takeover challenge. In the end, only one home cook will claim the title of MASTERCHEF and the $250,000 grand prize.
