“Lots of couples lie to each other ” -Kate Warner,
What lies has Kate told Eric and what was she hiding before she was killed.
Cornell begins interrogating Eric about if he had any knowledge Kate withdrew $100,000 from his savings account. Eric was stunned! ( $100,000 is a lot of money what was Kate doing with all that money.)
As you remember last week at the end of episode 1 ” The Fall” Detective Andrea Cornell asked Eric Warner about the death of Steven Porter who he spent time in A juvenile facility for killing . Steven was an all star football player who bullied Eric. Eric one day was tired of the beatings so he punched Steven one time. One punch killed Steven, however he had a untreated broken neck from football and that one little punch did him in. (Poor Eric had to serve time just for sticking up for himself.)
Eric’s father John explained to him that he hired a private investigator to look into Kate’s first pregnancy. He presented Eric with a birth certificate that Kate was 16 years old when she gave birth to a baby boy that she put up for adoption. ( who was the father of this baby boy and did he have something to do with Kate’s death?)
Eric’s friend and colleague Neal Oliver was in trouble! He was attacked by a man but Eric ran in and saved him during the attack. Cornell has a sketch of the man who attacked Neal and Eric questions why she has that already and what Neal is hiding . ( who was the man that attacked Neal and why did Cornell really have his sketch.)
Remember the $100,000 that Kate withdrew well we found out Amanda found a note in Kate’s tampon box that says that Eric was being blackmailed and Kate withdrew the money to pay the blackmailer to leave Eric alone. Eric knew nothing about this second demand the first was only for $50,000 and Eric refused to pay it.Kate sent out the DNA from the note to find out who he blackmailer was. ( Maybe Kate got to close to finding out the truth and that’s why she was killed.)
Amanda tells Eric about Ben Crawford ( season 1) who was innocent for the murder of his son but Cornell put away and was killed in prison. She says don’t be the second innocent man.
Eric arrives to Cornell’s office to give her the ransom note and when the elevator opens their with detective Cornell is Eric’s ex girlfriend who Eric claims will tell Cornell everything she wants to hear. Eric tells his father he’s gonna resign from the company. ( what could Tina possibly tell Cornell that would make Eric resign? )
Kate’s assistant Liam Conners has still not shown up for work or returned anyone’s phone calls since her murder so Eric decides to go to Liam’s house to check on him but when he arrives he sees a broken door frame, glass outside the door. The man who opens the door is the same man who attacked Neal! ( what! So maybe this Liam had something to do with Kate’s murder)
We have to wait 2 weeks for a new episode of secrets and lies when it returns on October 16th on ABC 9/8c
