Barry is looking for love and meets Linda Park a sport reporter plus deals with a meta-human who can teleport.
We begin this week with a couple trapped upside down in their car with live wires above. The Flash rescues them both in time before the car ignites in flames. He is now recognized as the Flash as they thank him.
Back at S.T.A.R Labs, Cisco is trying not to give Barry a hard time for dirtying up his suit. Barry wants to know when he can call it “his suit”. It will be “our” suit. Caitlin found Cisco’s tablet which shows he still looking into FIRESTORM and for Ronnie Raymond. Cisco tells Caitlin that Hartley Rathaway knows how to save Ronnie. Caitlin is having difficulty moving on from Ronnie.
Our meta-human list week is Shawna (Britne Oldford) who has broken into Iron Heights to free her boyfriend, Clay Parker by teleporting. Joe and Barry investigate the scene and find it intriguing that he just vanished from his prison cell. Barry finds some organic particular residual on the floor which leads a trail. Barry runs into his father, Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) at the prison who just happened by. This enables them to have a few seconds together. Joe arranged it as the guard owed him a favor.
Shawna and Clay are held up in her apartment. Clay can’t leave Central City until he pays Marcus back money owed to him. Clay wants Shawna to use her skills to help pay back the debt.
At S.T.A.R Labs they analyze the residue which they find is a woman, none other than Shawna Baez know for petty crimes.
Cisco visits Hartley Rathaway (Andy Mientus) to find out more information on Ronnie and why Professor Martin Stein was at S.T.A.R Labs the night of the particle accelerator. The mystery is why he never left the Lab. Hartley says he can show him but Cisco will not release him from his cell. The only way Cisco will find out the truth is by granting Hartley his freedom. Hartley uses Cisco’s conscious to get out.
Barry meets Iris at Jitters for coffee. Iris is not pleased that her editor only wants her to write about the Flash. As Iris fears losing her job, Barry says he will help her write a great story about the Flash.
Cisco finally agrees to release Hartley. He takes him outside the building to show him a “bomb shadow” on the wall. This shadow apparently belonged to Martin Stein. Hartley tries to escape but Cisco is too smart for him and has a sound wave distorter to stop him.
Barry’s father has been asking around the prison and finds out about Marcus who is a midlevel gangster and Clay owes a lot of money to him.
Caitlin is worrying that she doesn’t have a life. Well Barry doesn’t either.
The Flash races off to Shawna and Clay “Bonnie and Clyde” robbing an armored van. Shawna plays “catch me if you can” with the Flash. The Flash is shot by Clay and stops the bullet from seriously injuring him in time. Shawna and Clay get away. Back at the Lab they figure out that Shawna can teleport and Barry said it was like she was playing a game with him. Caitlin named her “Peek-a-Boo”. She said “can’t I name one”. Now they need to focus on her powers and what her limits with be to capture her.
Barry goes to help Iris write her paper, but Iris and Eddie are going off to meet his mum for dinner. So Barry decides to go and visit a bar where Shawna and Clay hung out frequently. So Caitlin decides to join him so they can get back into life. Caitlin has too much to drink and so Barry and she are doing karaoke. Barry can sing! Barry meets Linda Park (Malese Jow) at the bar. She flirts with him and leaves her cell number on his phone.
Hartley explains to Cisco that Stein’s work involved transmutation. On video footage it shows that Stein and Ronnie fused together. Hartley gets away in the end by taking out his implants and uses the frequency on Cisco.
Clay pays back the money to Marcus. The police raid the warehouse but Shawna and Clay teleport.
Barry takes a drunken Caitlin home. She asks “did you sneak a peek at my goods” when he speeds her into her pjs and puts her to bed.
The next morning Caitlin has a terrible hangover.
Cisco has to break the news to the Team that he let Hartley out of the pipeline and he escaped. Cisco wanted to find out what happened to Ronnie not just for Caitlin but for his own conscious. He was the one that sealed him in the accelerator before it blew and blames himself for what happened to him.
Wells figures out that if you take away the light and ability for Shawna to see she will not be able to teleport. Barry gets a call that his dad has been stabbed because he was poking around for info on Marcus. Barry rushes off to Iron Heights. Barry doesn’t want his father involved but his father wants to help and be useful after all the years Barry has been there for him. The Flash kidnaps Julius who beat up his dad for information on Marcus. The Flash races off to the heist to stop Shawna. To stop Shawna he needs to limit her feel of vision. So trapped in a tunnel with no lights she is helpless. She is caught and locked up in the pipeline.
The Flash meets Iris in an alley with information for a story on the break-out at Iron Heights on Clay Parker. Little does he know Iris took a photo of him on her cell phone?
Barry goes to Central City Picture News to pick up Linda Park for a lunch date. He bumps into Iris who seems a little jealous.
Barry visits his dad in the infirmary at Iron Heights. He is shown a front page photo on the newspaper of the Flash. His father tells him he saw the Flash once when he saved Joe’s life at the prison. His father knows who Barry is. He Henry tells Barry that if the Flash was his son he should be careful and that he is a hero and that the most important thing is that his father is proud of him. It was such a special moment for the both of them.
We end tonight with a couple of workers down in the sewers where the words “Grodd” are on the walls. The next thing a gorilla grabs the workers. Will we see more of Grodd?

The Flash “Run, Iris, Run” Review

by Miranda Friel on March 18, 2018
Say it with me now, Iris West-Allen is a super hero in a different sense of the word. Iris may have a few haters, but “Run, Iris, Run” proves them all wrong. The episode also has become another one of my favorites of the season. It proves that Iris is just as valuable to Team […]

The Flash “Enter Flashtime” Review

by Miranda Friel on March 13, 2018
I’ve gotta say, y’all, this episode of The Flash was one of my favorites this season. It didn’t focus on the whole DeVoe thing – which, quite frankly, was starting to bore me – but kept things interesting. Barry is still stressing hard over catching DeVoe, but “Enter Flashtime” stirs up a whole new level […]

The Flash “Trial of the Flash” Review

by Miranda Friel on January 20, 2018
If you remember, The Flash mid-season finale left Barry being framed for the murder of Clifford DeVoe. Meanwhile, DeVoe technically isn’t actually dead. His body is, but he’s not. He used some gadget thingy he and his wife concocted to switch bodies with Dominic – the telepathic meta Caitlin saved. Now, Barry is on trial […]

Episode 4×07 of The Flash picks up where 4×06 left off with the Joe and Barry meeting the infamous Clifford DeVoe. We learn a lot about who DeVoe is and how he and his wife got to where they are now through flashbacks. In the present, Barry takes his “investigation” on DeVoe a bit too […]

The Flash “When Harry Met Harry” Review

by Miranda Friel on November 19, 2017
In this week’s episode of The Flash, there are multiple storylines going on. Ralph realizes that being a superhero isn’t primarily about catching the bad guy, it’s about protecting the innocent. The meta of the week is klepto that can bring inanimate objects to life and control them with her mind. Meanwhile, Harry calls upon […]

The Flash “Girls Night Out” Review

by Miranda Friel on November 10, 2017
As the title hints, this week’s episode of The Flash is primarily about the ladies. Don’t get me wrong, the guys have a side story, but this one is all about Iris, Caitlin, Cecile and Felicity saving the day. It’s about darn time, if I do say so myself! While I wish we could have […]
