Darkness on the Edge of Town

Click HERE to listen to our on air review.

I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Arrow, ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’.

Malcolm Merlyn, in his archer costume, goes to Unidac Industries to tie up loose ends by murdering scientists that worked on the seismic device that will be used to level the Glades. Oliver and Diggle devise a plan where Diggle dresses as the vigilante and kidnaps Oliver and Moira in an attempt to uncover the truth about the Undertaking. The plan works and Oliver, Felicity, and Diggle break into Merlyn Global to hack the mainframe and find the device.

Oliver convinces Tommy to get back together with Laurel, but when he learns that he could give up being the vigilante if he stops the Undertaking, Oliver decides to reconcile with Laurel himself; later, Tommy witnesses Oliver and Laurel having sex. That night, Diggle goes after the device, but Malcolm learns of the system hack and has the device moved.

Oliver, as the Hood, attempts to kill Malcolm, who reveals to the vigilante that he is the other archer; the two fight and Malcolm gets the upper hand, beating him unconscious before he lifts up the hood, discovering Oliver’s secret.

Meanwhile, Walter reveals that he knew that Moira was part of his kidnapping and gives her divorce papers as a result, and Roy reveals to Thea exactly why he’s so determined to find the Hood – he lost someone and wants to be trained so he’ll never lose anyone again. Unfortunately, by not giving up, he lost Thea. In a flashback, Fyers reveals that he plans to cripple the Chinese economy by blowing up aircraft going into China. Fyers then murders Yao Fei after forcing him to take credit for the attacks via video recording.

It was a brilliant episode, and really ramped up the tension before the season finale next week. I can’t wait to see what happens.

Thanks for reading.

“Crisis on Earth-X” Parts 3 & 4 – The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow

by Miranda Friel on December 5, 2017
This D.C. Universe crossover event with all four D.C. shows is huge. So much so that it takes two recaps covering four hours’ worth of television. Since there’s so much to cover, I’m going to jump right into covering the second half of the event (parts 3 and 4: The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow). […]

Crisis on Earth-X Part 1&2 – Supergirl and Arrow

by Amy McCracken on December 5, 2017
The episode starts on a completely different earth. Not Earth-Twelve or Earth-ThirtyFive or even Earth-TwoHundredAndThirtyFour, It was Earth X. It was a  world ran by Nazi’s. Where you see the Guardian fighting this masked man in a dark suit with a bow and arrow but the Guardian couldn’t win this fight.   On Earth-One there […]

Arrow “Tribute” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 24, 2017
Now that we know how everyone’s doing since the island explosions, Arrow is ready to jump right into the season. That all started with the bombshell of the premiere cliffhanger where someone has leaked a photo of Oliver as the Arrow. Episode two, “Tribute”, shows the team trying to deal with that. Oliver has an […]

Arrow “Fallout” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 19, 2017
As I’m sure everyone remembers, the season 5 finale of Arrow left us with a huge cliffhanger wondering who survived the explosions on the island. Now, I had faith that most, if not all, would survive, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t any less disappointed with how they picked up season 6 five months later. […]
