I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Arrow, ‘The Undertaking’.

Oliver tracks down an accountant, Backman, for the secret organization and steals his laptop in order to redistribute all of his money back to the people he stole from. While decrypting the laptop, Felicity uncovers a link to Walter—a $2 million transfer was made to Dominic Alonzo, an underground casino owner who was hired to kidnap Walter. With Felicity posing as a card sharp, the pair infiltrate the casino; after being beaten and threatened, Alonzo reveals that Walter was killed.

Oliver informs his family; Moira immediately confronts Malcolm, who reveals that Walter is alive. Oliver, who was listening in, discovers that Tommy’s father is heading the secret organization, and uses Felicity to hack into his phone records to ascertain Walter’s location. As the vigilante, Oliver frees Walter (killing and maiming a large number of guards in the process – talk about ‘in the zone’) and reunites him with the family.

Meanwhile, Laurel goes to Tommy to get the truth about why he left, and Tommy reveals that he believes she is meant to be with Oliver, who still loves her. At the end of the episode, when she confronts Oliver about this, he reveals that he does still love her, before walking away.

In a flashback, Robert Queen is shown disagreeing with Malcolm’s proposed “Undertaking”, which would involve leveling The Glades and killing thousands of people in an effort to rebuild the area and remove the crime. As a result, Malcolm has a bomb planted on the Queen’s yacht just before Robert and Oliver set off.

It was a brilliant episode, bringing back a number of interesting characters, furthering the overall storyline nicely, and giving Oliver the chance to absolutely annihilate some guards. What more could you want? I can’t wait for the penultimate episode to see what happens next.

“Crisis on Earth-X” Parts 3 & 4 – The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow

by Miranda Friel on December 5, 2017
This D.C. Universe crossover event with all four D.C. shows is huge. So much so that it takes two recaps covering four hours’ worth of television. Since there’s so much to cover, I’m going to jump right into covering the second half of the event (parts 3 and 4: The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow). […]

Crisis on Earth-X Part 1&2 – Supergirl and Arrow

The episode starts on a completely different earth. Not Earth-Twelve or Earth-ThirtyFive or even Earth-TwoHundredAndThirtyFour, It was Earth X. It was a  world ran by Nazi’s. Where you see the Guardian fighting this masked man in a dark suit with a bow and arrow but the Guardian couldn’t win this fight.   On Earth-One there […]

Arrow “Tribute” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 24, 2017
Now that we know how everyone’s doing since the island explosions, Arrow is ready to jump right into the season. That all started with the bombshell of the premiere cliffhanger where someone has leaked a photo of Oliver as the Arrow. Episode two, “Tribute”, shows the team trying to deal with that. Oliver has an […]

Arrow “Fallout” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 19, 2017
As I’m sure everyone remembers, the season 5 finale of Arrow left us with a huge cliffhanger wondering who survived the explosions on the island. Now, I had faith that most, if not all, would survive, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t any less disappointed with how they picked up season 6 five months later. […]
