Home InvasionBy: Dan

I’ve just had the pleasure of watching the latest episode of Arrow, ‘Home Invasion’.

Laurel represents a family that is suing a corrupt businessman who cheated the family out of their life savings, but a hit is put out on the family, and the couple’s young child is the only one to survive. Laurel takes the boy into her custody until his extended family can be reached, but the hitman comes after the boy, who can identify him. Laurel is saved by the vigilante, and Tommy suggests that they all go to Oliver’s for protection while the police look for the hitman.

A sting operation designed by authorities is set to capture Deadshot, but Oliver chooses to locate the man responsible for hiring the hitman instead of stopping Deadshot, and Diggle has a showdown with Lawton. Lawton gets the best of him and says the only reason he isn’t shooting is because no one has paid him to do it, and that there’s room under his brother’s name for his. Feeling betrayed by Oliver for choosing Laurel over him, after Oliver agreed to help Diggle kill Deadshot, Diggle decides to leave Oliver.

The hitman comes to the Queen residence to kill all remaining witnesses, but Oliver manages to kill him with a fire poker before he can get to Laurel and the boy. Tommy realises that Oliver still loves Laurel, but Oliver reassures him that he won’t act on it because of his dual lifestyles. Afterward, Tommy decides to leave Laurel, believing that he could never compete with Oliver should she ever discover that he is the vigilante.

Elsewhere, Roy continues his search for the vigilante, stealing a police radio to hear for signs of his activity. Laurel’s father sets a trap for him and arrests him. When Thea goes to get him out, Detective Lance shows them body number 26 of the vigilante’s victims. Roy explains to Thea that he feels like he owes the vigilante everything, and Thea resolves to help hi mto track him down, as it means the world to him, and he means the world to her.

During a flashback to the island, Oliver recalls Shado teaching him to shoot a bow, and the pair kiss. The episode ends with Yao Fei leading Fryers’ men to the three wantaways, and them all being taken prisoner.

It was a brilliant episode, with a lot going on. There was relationship drama, some awesome fight sequences, and some great progress and development both character-wise and plot-wise. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Thanks for reading.

“Crisis on Earth-X” Parts 3 & 4 – The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow

by Miranda Friel on December 5, 2017
This D.C. Universe crossover event with all four D.C. shows is huge. So much so that it takes two recaps covering four hours’ worth of television. Since there’s so much to cover, I’m going to jump right into covering the second half of the event (parts 3 and 4: The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow). […]

Crisis on Earth-X Part 1&2 – Supergirl and Arrow

by Amy McCracken on December 5, 2017
The episode starts on a completely different earth. Not Earth-Twelve or Earth-ThirtyFive or even Earth-TwoHundredAndThirtyFour, It was Earth X. It was a  world ran by Nazi’s. Where you see the Guardian fighting this masked man in a dark suit with a bow and arrow but the Guardian couldn’t win this fight.   On Earth-One there […]

Arrow “Tribute” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 24, 2017
Now that we know how everyone’s doing since the island explosions, Arrow is ready to jump right into the season. That all started with the bombshell of the premiere cliffhanger where someone has leaked a photo of Oliver as the Arrow. Episode two, “Tribute”, shows the team trying to deal with that. Oliver has an […]

Arrow “Fallout” Review

by Miranda Friel on October 19, 2017
As I’m sure everyone remembers, the season 5 finale of Arrow left us with a huge cliffhanger wondering who survived the explosions on the island. Now, I had faith that most, if not all, would survive, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t any less disappointed with how they picked up season 6 five months later. […]
